Find LEGO parts and building instructions
Read LEGO parts inventories, understand quantities and spare pieces, export a filtered checklist, and find official building instructions.
Start with the set number
LEGO says the set number is on the box and the online product page. Search Brick Explorer by that number or by the set name. Catalogue entries may show an extra suffix, such as 3219-1; use the main number, 3219, when looking for official instructions.
Explore the recorded parts
Open a set and choose Inspect parts. Search by part name or number, narrow the inventory by colour or category, and export the visible rows as CSV. A part-colour lot is one part in one colour; its quantity can be greater than one. Spare pieces are excluded until you enable Include spare pieces.
Read quantities, lots and spare pieces
The Qty column counts pieces, while a lot groups one part number in one colour. For example, six red bricks and four blue bricks of the same part number make ten pieces, two lots and one unique part. Enable Include spare pieces to add the recorded spares to Qty and the charts. The Spares column still shows that spare count separately: do not add it again when spares are already included. The displayed totals describe the recorded inventory, not a check of the pieces in your box.
Recover an empty search
Part text, colour and category filters apply together. If the table is empty, choose Clear part filters to reset those three choices, then narrow the list one filter at a time. The spare-piece setting is a separate choice. Help opened from an inventory now includes Back to your parts, which restores the same set, filters and spare-piece setting.
Export a useful parts checklist
Export CSV downloads only the rows currently visible in the inventory. To export the whole recorded inventory, clear the part filters first and decide whether to include spares. The Quantity column follows that choice; Spares remains a separate reference column. Keep Part and Colour together when comparing rows, since the same part can appear in several colours. This is an inventory checklist, not an assembly sequence or a list of pieces you personally own.
Use the right guide for a physical build
The animated builds here show selected community models, with playback and rotation controls. Their placement order and model counts can differ from the official booklet and the catalogue inventory. For the manufacturer’s assembly sequence, look up the set in LEGO’s official building-instructions search. LEGO also offers the Builder app for supported sets.
When a set or model is missing
This historical catalogue has selected later additions and does not cover every current release. A set without a 3D model can still have a useful parts inventory. Try All sets if the animated-build filter hides your result, or use LEGO’s search for an official booklet.
